Pharmacy First is a scheme which offers Tower Hamlets residents access to health advice and treatment from their local pharmacy without an appointment.
Pharmacists can offer advice on minor problems and decide whether you need to see a doctor. Click here to find out more.
How does the scheme work?
Visit Chrisp Street Health Centre and ask for a Pharmacy First registration voucher from Reception. Take the voucher to your local participating pharmacy, you will then be registered at this pharmacy for advice and treatment whenever you need it.
Which conditions are covered by the scheme?
Do I need an appointment to see the pharmacist?
You don’t need an appointment to see your pharmacist – you can just walk in when you need to. Advice provided by the pharmacist is confidential. The pharmacist may need to refer you back to your GP if more treatment is necessary.
How much does it cost?
There is not cost to take part in the scheme. If you do not normally pay a prescription charge pharmacists will be able to provide you with medicine for minor conditions for free. If you are not exempt from prescription charges, you will pay the normal fee to the pharmacists or buy the medicine if they are cheaper.
Which pharmacies are participating in the scheme?
All Tower Hamlets pharmacies are participating in this scheme. For further information, talk to the practice staff at the Health Centre.
